GENEVIEVE JURAS
director. choreographer. educator.

about me!
Hi, hello, welcome! Thank you for stopping by!
My name is Genevieve, and I am a theatre-maker and educator working with both NYC youth and elders to tell stories that are important to us. I love working on developing new plays, devising movement-heavy storytelling, and empowering people--young and old--to share their stories with confidence and craftsmanship.
My work exists at the collision of science, math, art, and relationships. I have always been hard-wired to problem solve, whether that be through algebra, data analysis, or staging a scene. Everything I do--math, directing, improv workshops--is about telling stories to explain some kind of phenomena. It all requires a level of rigor and wonder. There is not always an answer, but the process is always invigorating.
Some other things that may or may not be of importance to you: NC born and raised, Aries, currently obsessed with making ice-cream cake, amateur birder, gluten-free, passionate about community gardens, very worried about AI, fascinated by the subway system, favorite holiday is Groundhog Day or Labor Day, always looking for rocks and seashells and four leaf clovers.
